Are your teachers properly qualified to teach?

Yes - all of our trainers are native speakers of their teaching language, and have qualifications either in teaching their native language as a foreign language, or a degree from a university in their own language. Many have both.

How many sessions am I likely to need?

It is difficult to give a precise answer. Learning a new language depends almost entirely on the student. Students with prior language learning experience, those with proper motivation and those with pressing reasons for learning the language generally make faster learners. However, using our experience as a benchmark, most language learners who begin their courses with no knowledge of their target language and take the course in order to be able to have basic conversation and survive in the country, 15 sessions of 2 hours each is considered a realistic period of time. If you let us know your specific needs, we can give a more accurate estimate.

How do I work out my language level?

Your tutor will give you an initial assessment in your first session. We also provide online multiple-choice language tests for the major languages - if you wish to take one and find your level yourself, please contact us.

Is it possible to take just one class on a trial basis, to see how I get on?

Generally speaking, no. It is highly improbable that we will be able to find and arrange a trainer who doesn't mind teaching a single class, as one session is not enough to gauge accurately how you will make progress with the course. In special circumstances, however, it may be possible to arrange this - get in touch with us if you feel that it is absolutely necessary for you or your company.

What if I don't get on with my teacher?

This is a very rare situation, but we acknowledge and appreciate that it can happen. If you dislike your teacher or their teaching style, you should get in contact with us after the initial session and we can arrange another teacher for you. You will not have to pay for that first session, and if we are unable to find an alternative teacher, you will receive a total refund.

Can I pay in instalments, or do I need to pay in advance?

Upon booking a course, you make a commitment for the entirety of the programme. We will send an invoice for the total amount; but we do not require the full amount up front. We need only a $550 deposit to get things moving, payable by bank transfer or credit card. Subsequently, the total balance on the invoice must be settled within 2 weeks.

Do I have to add tax to your prices?

No, there are no hidden sales or value added taxes. The price we quote is the price you pay.

Are the courses certified? Will I receive a certificate?

At the end of your course you will receive a Certificate of Completion, detailing what you studied, for how many hours, and your final level. While our courses are not accredited by any university or similar institution, we can help prepare you for accredited exams if needs be - this would entail spending a portion of your course doing preparation for the exams.

What is the maximum class size?

This is entirely your decision, as we can appreciate that the more people there are in the class, the lower the cost for each person. However, it's important to note that the more people there are in each session, the more it hampers each person's progress, as the teacher's time will be spread between more people during class. We do not recommend more than 12 people per class. Additionally, each student should be approximately the same level of expertise in the language, and classes can only be cancelled or rescheduled if all students are unable to be there.
