{"id":1,"name":"Sam","url":"","description":"Born in a small town on the East coast of New Zealand, Sam went on a holiday to South America in 2013, to explore the magic and wonders of Argentina, only to meet a girl, move to Uruguay, and form a career in writing. While Uruguay has been home ever since, it hasn\u2019t cured the travel bug, which has sent him to Europe, Indonesia, Brazil, New York, and Peru. \r\n\r\nIntrigued by the mind and our relationship with technology, Sam\u2019s writing has explored subjects as diverse as psychology, philosophy, artificial intelligence, and neuroscience. In 2016 he self-published Connecting the Dots, a book about learning how to learn. In 2018 he wrote a series of articles under the name the Digital Brain, which explored the effects of technology on the brain and what might develop in the future. He\u2019s now in the process of finishing his second book, titled Mental Effort, which searches for the reasons behind the seemingly unpleasant experience of effort. \r\n\r\nBeyond writing, Sam also composes music. He studied music technology at Otago University, and has a love for film and game soundtracks. This compelled him to produce soundtracks for a few different media, including several iPhone games. In 2014 he released his first full album, The Flaws of Perception. \r\n\r\nAs if he doesn\u2019t have enough creative outlets with writing and music, Sam has recently been digging into digital illustration and photography. He has a fondness for night-time shots of starry skies and cityscapes. While these are for the moment only hobbies, one day, perhaps, he\u2019ll be able to put everything together. \r\n\r\nAs for the future, Sam hopes to eventually move back to New Zealand, somewhere in the countryside, near a lake and mountains, where he\u2019ll continue to write and compose and design, along with any other hobbies he picks up along the way.","link":"https:\/\/www.languagetrainers.com.au\/blog\/author\/admin\/","slug":"admin","avatar_urls":{"24":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/14ee15aa9d8cec74791e788856c37dbf?s=24&d=mm&r=g","48":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/14ee15aa9d8cec74791e788856c37dbf?s=48&d=mm&r=g","96":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/14ee15aa9d8cec74791e788856c37dbf?s=96&d=mm&r=g"},"meta":[],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.languagetrainers.com.au\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.languagetrainers.com.au\/blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users"}]}}
